Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the best in the city! They are curious and thoughtful and love exploring new ideas. They are self-motivated and are always ready to discover new things. My students are articulate and have amazing conversations in class.
I teach at a Title I school in New York where most of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Despite the hardships they face at home, my students are always eager to learn about the world they live in. They amaze me daily.
My Project
It's that time of year again when we are all out of printer paper and pencils. These are very essential supplies in any classroom.
Every day my students come in asking for a pencil, and I have to keep saying I don't have any.
The pencils I am asking for are triangular in shape, which makes them easy to grip for those students with poor motor skills. They also ensure that students don't lose them easily because they can't roll off the table. In addition, we are in need of printer paper. My students have access to the computers in the classroom and they often use the printer to print out research or papers that they wrote for class.
