My Students
My students are a large group of curious readers from Brooklyn, NY. These eighth-grade students love to debate and make connections between what they read and what they learn in other subjects. In addition, they are also always making connections to the real world. Many of my students do not have the resources or the support at home to purchase their own copies of books, so I am constantly searching for ways to put books in their hands, even if it means buying them the books myself.
My Project
These basic classroom materials will help my eighth-grade students demonstrate what they have learned by creating informative and colorful response projects. This year, my students have read some marvelous pieces of literature (many of which were provided by DonorsChoose.org)! Now, it is time for them to share how they responded to particular pieces of literature. Most of my students do not have the ability to print at home, so I would like to give them paper and ink they need, to use our classroom printer. While my school does its best to supply these items, my students need your generous assistance in order to put their ideas into a creative and meaningful project.
