My Students
Our school is in the heart of Brooklyn, NY.
It includes students from Pre-K to eighth grade, and it is a melting pot of descendants from the West Indies.
The school is in a high poverty area, and about 95% of the students in the school receive free lunch. There are 18 energetic, three and four-year-old children in my class but there are not a lot of funds to enrich these students' education because of the budget cuts and although our families give us support they can't always help out financially.
My Project
My Pre-Kinderarten students and I need different types of paper and markers to use throughout the day. The copy paper will be used to make copies of home work worksheets, notes to families and writing templates for the writing center. We need the pencil sharpener to sharpen the Jumbo sized pencils my young students need. The chart paper and makers will be used to create anchor charts with and for my students.
I could teach without paper and pencils but I shouldn't have to.
