Panda Media Center Supplies

My students need furniture and pillows for a reading corner of the media center, new books and other media center supplies.

My Students

Many of my students come from an economically disadvantaged background, with sev-one percententy receiving free or reduced-price lunch. My students test scores are still below the state's average. However, my students are improving at a significant rate. The school media center needs books and supplies to enrich students' learning and promote lifelong readers which will in turn, help every aspect of their school learning.

Our school strives to ensure every student succeeds and the media center is an integral part of their individual and group success.

I work directly with teachers to enhance classroom lessons. Upon funding, my project will be ongoing and benefit every teacher in the school through active media center lessons.

My Project

This is my first year at this school and I want to make it special for all the kids and really get them involved in the media center. By creating a reading corner, they will feel invited to come in, grab a book and read. I'm trying to get child-sized furniture, pillows and cushions to make that happen. I'm also asking for a chair to sit in when I read aloud to the students and pillows in our school colors and mascot.

Media Center budgets are slim so I'm trying to get the newest and best books for my students without dipping into it.

Titles like Dragons Love Tacos always keep the students wanting more!
