Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is deeply committed to fostering a strong sense of community. This year, as we welcome new classrooms, students, and staff, we are placing a special focus on family and kindness to bring everyone together.

As a community school, we are proud to offer resources that support both our families and the wider community.

Our campus is home to a wellness center, a parenting institute, a food bank, and weekly medical services—all designed to meet the needs of those we serve.

Through our House program, we aim to extend this spirit of kindness even further. Students in each House will engage in meaningful activities that promote connection, empathy, and service. With our school located next to the neighborhood park, we have a wonderful opportunity to spread kindness not only within our school walls but throughout the local community as well.

Our House program is made up of six Houses. When a student joins our school, they are placed into a House that they will remain in for the duration of their time here. Throughout the year, Houses come together to complete schoolwide projects, such as making cards for the local community center.

This year, we’re excited to kick off our House program with a special focus on kindness. To celebrate this theme, each House will create kindness rocks—colorful, hand-painted rocks with uplifting messages. These rocks will be placed around our school, nearby parks, local neighborhoods, and surrounding businesses to spread joy and positivity throughout our community.
