I love that when my students see me in the hallway, they call me Mrs. Art Teacher and say hello. They also ask what project they will be doing next and tell me they can’t wait to attend art class.
My students are unique because they come from culturally diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn about the arts.
I make it my mission to choose art activities with bright colors that help bring happiness.
I also incorporate activities using social-emotional learning strategies, which help my students feel calm, joyous, and relaxed. They are enthusiastic learners.
I have requested Crayola Assorted Oval Pan Watercolors, Flat Tip Easel paint brushes and Easel Board Paint Brushes for my students to use. They will create colorful watercolor paintings of water lilies and the Japanese Footbridge. Students will listen to stories about Monet and imagine they are standing in the garden in France. They can choose place themselves standing on the footbridge surrounded by the colorful flowers.
