Painting a Garden in Preschool!

My students need paint, paper and dry erase markers to express their creativity.

My Students

Our program serves children who are identified as at risk and children with identified disabilities or delays. My classroom currently is a mixture of children who are 3 and 4 years old. I have a very diverse group of students in my room - socioeconomically, ethnicity, English Language Learners and ability level.

For most of my students, this is the first time they are away from home for an extended time each day.

I pride myself in creating a safe and comfortable environment for my little ones to grow and bloom.

I believe very strongly that play is the way the children in my classroom learn best. I also strongly believe that early intervention is the key to success for the children in my classroom. We spend the vast majority of our day exploring and playing. Of my 15 students, 11 are expected to move on to Kindergarten in the Fall.

My Project

The children in my class absolutely love getting creative. Whether it is in the block area and they are building houses and hospitals or the housekeeping area and they are pretending to be a dad cooking dinner with a baby or they are in the puppet area making up a story about a princess in a castle. One of their favorite centers in our classroom is the art center. I constantly have paint and paper available whenever they want to go to the center. Of course, this means that we can go through some paper and paint! We are very low in our supply so I would like to order some new art supplies like paper, markers, and paint for my little ones to keep getting their creativity on!
