My Project
Painting is one of my students' favorite materials to explore, however it is one of the materials I have the littlest resources for in my classroom. My older three to five students love to watercolor. My K to 2nd students are still learning the basics of color mixing. Also my two adapted classes for my elementary autistic support and life skills classes greatly love to paint. With limited resources this past year many of my students weren't able to make a tempers paint painting this past school year. Many of the the paints that I had were acrylic that we're too old and dried up to be used or not labeled non-toxic due to their age.
Your donation for this project will provide my students with an array of non-toxic painting material options which are safe for my students in special education and also my students that are in the youngest grade levels to explore the skills and methods in color theory safely.
Many of the projects I plan to create with the donation of these paints is watercolor paintings for my students that are in all grade levels. In the fall I love to do a wax resist unit with all grade levels. The tempera paint will be an excellent way for my adopted art classes for my special education students to dive into primary, secondary and rainbow order painting assignments. This will also give all grade levels especially my littlest learners the opportunity to freely mix colors and explore blending of paint to create other colors, tins and shades, and learn a basic art elements such as color value and shading through exploration.
We thank you greatly for your donation and for giving us the ability to paint safely once again!
