This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students! They are both general education and special education students, and they are made up of English language learners and students whose first language is English. My students have me for a 45-minute computer science and/or character ed class at least once per week. My students are eager to learn and are making progress each week. In character education class I serve as a mentor to these fully remote scholars and our lessons are focused around diverse books.
The students are highly motivated by hands-on activities and project-based learning.
Kwik Stix are an easy way for students to paint without the mess! We use these for all sorts if projects from a simple draw like an illustrator to more in depth projects for holidays such as Thanksgiving, World Kindness Day or Chinese New Year!
