Paint, Pastel, and Color, Oh My!

My Students

I teach 500 students art each week. Half of our school is high-achieving magnet students and the other half consists of local neighborhood students. It is a Title One school with most of our students having free or reduced lunch.

My students are passionate about learning art and using their imagination to be creative.

I love to see their individuality come out in their artwork as they express themselves through various mediums in my class! We have many talented young artists!

My Project

In my art class, students explore art history and creativity through the making of their own unique art masterpieces with various mediums! These specific supplies are beneficial and necessary for their making process! Sharpies are great for the little ones. Often we draw with pencil and then fill our drawings with color. Without sharpies to bold their pencil lines, many younger students drawings disappear under their coloring. Oil pastels and construction paper crayons are bright and perfect for adding color and my older students love experimenting with watercolor paints!

A few new art supplies go a long way to priming the pump of our creativity!
