My Students

I service over 550 students each week, grades Pre-K to 4th (ages 4 - 12). They are creative, compassionate, and filled with the excitement of possibilities. They are our future world changers and problem solvers!

They need a safe space to grow their creativity through learning new skills, exploring new techniques, and making mistakes.

This is their first year with a weekly art class at school. They are practicing the creative process which can be applied to a variety of career fields; finding inspiration, building ideas through research and observation, developing ideas, exploring techniques, representing their ideas, sharing their ideas, and receiving feedback.

My purpose is to build my student's confidence and resilience through creating art and their relationship with themselves, with me, and with others.

They come from a background of farmers and oilfield workers. With so much focus on academics many lack the opportunity to explore the creative process in arts, which motivates us to provide a safe space for our students even more. They are funny, dedicated, brilliant, kind, persistent, inquiring minds who rise to any challenge presented to them.

My Project

Painting with 30+ classes and 550+ kids, pre-k through 4th, seems daunting to say the least. “All you need to paint is a few tools, a little instruction, and a vision in your mind.” – Bob Ross We need an system that allows for quick prep of small group supplies and keeps supplies easily accessible to each student.

These trays and other supplies will keep paint supplies easily accessible to each student, allow students to independently clean and paint, and make clean up quick and easy!

This means more opportunities to utilize paints for art projects!

These are just a few books that encourage creativity and expose students to art concepts. Anywhere Artist say, "I don't need paint or paper. I can make art anywhere. My imagination is all I need."
