This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our 65 Prekindergarten students are learning the basic skills they need to do well academically, and they have a great love of art and art media. Unfortunately, recent budget cuts have left supply closets largely empty. Help promote our love of artistic expression.

Our students come from a variety of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds, and many are struggling financially.

They all come to school with a dedication to learning and exploring, and, even with minimal supplies, make the most of their warm learning environment and the resources we do have,

My Project

By supplying a variety of art materials, your donation would open doors for students, allowing them to express themselves, a fundamental element in learning to read and write. From sponge painters to roll-on markers to tempera blocks, each media provides a new learning opportunity for each child.

Your generous donation would allow our pre-kindergartners the opportunities to create, explore, invent, and learn from their work.

Giving students choices, especially at a young age, is sure to foster not only a love of exploration and investigation, key to science and mathematics, but empowers students and provides a sense of pride in their work, as well as responsibility for the tools they use every day.
