My Project

In my eighth grade classroom, some books are more popular than others. It seems that between my classroom library and our school library, we can’t keep certain titles on the shelf. Our high interest novels like Long Way Down are constantly on hold for the next student to read. In addition to some of our novels that are always popular, after reading The Hunger Games as a class novel, there is a high demand for Catching Fire and Mockingjay. Because of this, I am requesting additional copies of some of the most requested titles at my school.

High interest novels are crucial to the development of minds and souls of young children.

In addition, they help cultivate a love of reading which is vital at the middle school level. Developing a love of reading at a pivotal age grows lifelong readers which is always the goal we have here at the middle school level.
