Help me give my students book studies by integrating book studies into our curriculum, I can provide students with a platform to explore literature in a structured yet flexible environment.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am continuously inspired by my students' enthusiasm and eagerness to explore new stories, despite the challenges they face in reading independently. Their curiosity and willingness to engage with literature are truly commendable. To support my students in their journey to become proficient readers, I utilize class set book studies as a pivotal resource. These book studies are instrumental in not only building their vocabulary but also fostering a sense of community as we delve into the narratives together. By reading as a class, students can discuss and analyze the text collaboratively, which enhances comprehension and retention. Additionally, integrating movies as a complementary resource allows my students to visually grasp story elements, enabling them to compare and contrast cinematic adaptations with the written word. This multi-sensory approach caters to diverse learning preferences and reinforces understanding of story features such as plot, character development, and themes. By leveraging these resources, I aim to create an inclusive and dynamic learning environment where every student can thrive and develop a lifelong love for reading.
