Pads of Fury- Using Music To Foster Academic Excitement
My students need 9 drumming practice pads and 5 snare stands.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. N.'s classroom raised $548
This project is fully funded
My classroom is a place where anything can happen and both my students and I have seen this come true. I am a huge music advocate for public schools, especially for those who lack opportunity and finances. I have had the honor and privilege of putting together a fully functional recording studio here at our charter school. With this studio, I have been able to teach audio recording to Freshman through Seniors. The unique part of this is that I serve a very financially underprivileged group of students, so many of these kids would never have the opportunity to experience this type of education on their own.
Many students have been showing a growing interest in learning instruments, in particular drums. The only problem is that our school lacks the supplies necessary to teach drumming to a group of students. With pads and stands available, myself and two other teachers will be able to provide hands-on drumming instruction to students.
I have found, as I have seen with the recording studio, that music education has a way of motivating students to attend school and also to foster a desire to learn in all areas. Having these supplies will create an excellent opportunity for kids with few musical options. Most of my students have never had formal music training because of lack of finances and resources. With your help, students will be able to get professional music education using these supplies.
Fortunately, you can make these dreams come true for my students. Music is integral and valuable part of our society and especially in the lives of students. Sadly however, this is an area in education that is often overlooked and the best is usually afforded only to the wealthy. Music instruction is not something that any desiring student should be deprived of, no matter what their place in society. Your help will give these overlooked students an opportunity that they can't afford for themselves.
