My Students
Have you seen the iPad commercial comparing it to the pencil? In our class, our iPads are just as important as pencils, and we want to make sure they are protected. Unlike pencils, iPads are very fragile and difficult to replace, so we need your help to protect our precious iPads!
I work with a great group of 21 English Language Learners in grades K-5.
My students speak Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Hmong, and English. They are working hard to master the skills they need to be successful in life. I love coming to school each day to work with such hard-working students who are so excited to learn. They attend a large school of about 1000 students. We have a great school that has recently been designated by our state as a reward school for our students' high achievement and our work at closing the achievement gap. You can help us continue to improve!
My Project
My students and I are extremely blessed to have 6 iPads to use daily. I try to find ways for my students to use the iPads in innovative ways that allow us to do things that wouldn't be possible without them. This includes making videos and other projects that help them develop their English language skills. We also use them to listen and read ebooks, watch educational videos, and more. The current cases that protect our iPads make it difficult to access the volume buttons and headphone port. In order to use headphones with the iPads, we have to partially take the iPads out of the cases, which defeats the purpose of having a case. We are asking for new cases that will allow us to easily use headphones and change the volume on our iPads while still protecting them. We are also asking for new headphones because most of our current headphones have been used so much that sound only comes out of one ear.
In today's schools, iPads are almost as important as pencils.
We use them everyday, and if something were to happen to them, it would be devastating to my students. Please consider donating to help us better protect our iPads with new cases and help us hear our iPads better with new headphones. Even a donation of $1 is very appreciated!
