Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help our students pack their bags with the school supplies they need for a successful school year.

Students will have access to notebooks for writing workshop.

They will engage in the writing process by selecting topics, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing their original work in their personal notebooks.

They will also receive folders where they can safely secure, store and organize school papers and handouts.

Markers, colored pencils, tape, glue, and glue guns will be available for students to complete projects and assignments. Group projects challenge students in more real-world ways such as teamwork, decision-making, and communication. Project-based learning activities also, allow students to develop deep content knowledge and have a direct impact on how well students are prepared to enter the workforce.

Other supplies that students will have access to through this project include clipboards for observations, and for write-the-room activities, where students find vocabulary words around the room and write them down. Clipboards can also be used as an incentive or reward for students who behave well, such as allowing them to work on the floor or at a counter.

Students who have basic supplies may feel more confident, are more engaged in class, better prepared for assignments, and are able to learn to their best ability.
