My Students

A typical day in my classroom is jam-packed full of activities and learning. There's hardly a free moment in our day, and I want my students to have everything they need to make our day run as smoothly as possible!

I work at an amazing school where all teachers work as a team to ensure students have the best educational experience possible.

My students are third graders from diverse backgrounds, and my school is in a suburban neighborhood that serves a variety of economic levels. My students are the absolute best, and are always energetic and eager to come to school and learn new things.

My Project

With these owl pellets I will be able to expose my students to food chains right in the classroom. I will be able to intensify their research into food chains and life cycles with hands-on dissection. After dissecting the pellets, students will sort and classify the skeletal remains and explain what their owl ate and how they know. Students will be able to determine not only what the owl ate, but also what kind of consumer the owl is(herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore) through their observations.

These owl pellets will provide an opportunity for my inquisitive students to learn more about food chains, life cycles, and the scientific method.

They will have the chance to take part in their learning through this unforgettable hands-on learning experience. Most importantly, they will go home eager to share the joy of Science with their family and friends!
