My Students
There is rarely a dull moment in my day! A school such as ours, bustling with about 550 students, is full of needs to be met. We are serving a very diverse group of students in grades kindergarten through sixth, with a range of support at home.
I have made social-emotional learning a priority for our students as a means for them to focus on the learning.
Being able to control our emotions and stress levels is crucial to our success. Learning from home can add to the stress and emotions that our students are feeling. In addition, some of our families are facing economic hardships.
My Project
Throughout the pandemic and the school closure, I have been putting together snack bags for students and delivering them to their homes. As we begin the transition to hybrid learning, students will be able to receive snacks while at school and I would like to provide them with snacks for the weekend as well.
Students will use these backpacks as a way to take snacks and easy to prepare meals home on the weekends.
They would then return them on Mondays for me to refill again for the following weekend.
