This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These texts are the recommended texts for 3rd grade students in our new ELA curriculum. These texts are to support students during their independent reading giving multiple examples of how children from various backgrounds have overcome obstacles in their learning.

My goal is to provide students with a variety of these texts in order to encourage a love of reading, while also showing them how learning obstacles can be handled and overcome.

Our students come from many different countries, and many have very different experiences with education and learning. These books will show that there are even more examples of other children beating the odds in ways they never thought of.
