Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful and innovative learners. They enjoy active and engaging lessons that foster the love of reading! They come to school each day, both in person and virtually, ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. My students attend a 3-5 school in an inner city area with only a 33% success rate in Math and ELA. The challenge is to recreate my lessons for an virtual learning environment.

My Project

The technology in this project will allow me to utilize the webcam for virtual interactions as well as programs such as Microsoft Teams, and One Note. These tools are used everyday and my current technology is outdated. This new tablet will be extremely valuable for my classroom and students not only during this uncertain time but as we move forward with education this school year and in years to come.

This computer/tablet combination will allow me to better utilize the smart board while maintaining social distancing, and will also allow me to better engage students during virtual learning.

For example create video lessons, live stream with students, teach from any location in my classroom, allow student interaction, and much more as we navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. These small changes in learning will have a great impact on my students and their education.
