My Project

Somewhere over the rainbow way up high, there's a school that I heard of where students thrive!

The addition of a class set of ukuleles will have a significant impact on the learning dynamic in the music classroom at FES.

Students will apply their knowledge about the elements of music by coming together to create music using a mellow instrument that does not overly disturb our sensory-sensitive students. Students will have a greater incentive to develop their understanding of music concepts, knowing they can apply that understanding to an instrument that is accessible and enjoyable to play.

My goals for a class set of ukuleles is for my students to grow their confidence, develop discipline to learn a craft, and mature in their understanding of the rewards that come with a good work ethic. My students will work hard, push through any challenges, and celebrate their victories by working harder when they successfully accomplish their learning goals. My students are looking forward to an exciting, fun, hands-on learning opportunity in the music classroom.
