Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our playground is in such need of play equipment. We have an old basketball hoop that is missing a net and made for middle school students. Our students have such a hard time trying to get their shots in the actual net. We also are down to three working hula hoops for 75 students.
My preschoolers live in a very low socioeconomic area in Southern California.
They don't have a ton of opportunities for outside play. The area of our school is not safe, and most of the kids live in apartments without a yard to play in. When they come to school, they really look forward to our psychomotor activities.
My Project
With the new basketball hoops our students will be able to really develop so many gross motor skills. They will also feel a sense of accomplishment and pride to actually be able to make an intended basket. In addition the hula hoops will be a much desired area for the students to play in. We can make a million games using these hoops.
My goal for my preschoolers is to make school an exciting and fun place for them to be at everyday.
Having more equipment for them to play with outside will help me achieve my goal.
