My Project

Ask any child what their favorite part of the school day is and they will most likely tell you ... RECESS! Recess is such an important part of the day. It is a much needed brain break in which students have the opportunity to work on their social-emotional development, gross motor skills, coordination, communication, and imagination. At recess, the opportunities for learning are endless.

Unfortunately, there are not many options for my students at recess.

We have one climber that must be shared between five classes which means each class can only use it one day each week. There is no other playground equipment.

The play equipment requested in this project will provide the Kindergarten students at my school with more choices at recess. We want students to be engaged in play at recess and not just aimlessly wandering around the blacktop and field. I would love to see them engaging in active play with different playground balls, jump ropes, hula hoops, and games. Play is so important for all students but especially our youngest students. Thank you for your support!
