This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is filled with curious and enthusiastic third graders who are about to start a journey studying outer space. The bilingual STEM books would provide opportunities for students to learn about outer space in English and Spanish. The Hidden Figures book will help me present to all multilingual readers during a read-aloud the inspiring true story of four black women who helped NASA launch men into space. The projector will help students explore the solar system in a fun bilingual way! Lastly, the flashcards and planet toys will also engage them in group discussions as they share their ongoing learning in the unit.

All these materials will greatly impact students' inquiry work!
