Outdoor STEM Activities with Pre-K Students

Help me give my students Apple Pencil, a kite making kit, art caddy and other STEM materials for outdoor learning use with my Pre-K students.

My Project

It is springtime in New York City and I would like to expand the boundaries of our classroom by taking my students outdoors for more learning experiences when the weather is sunny and warm. My pre-kindergarten students have a natural wonder of the world around them. They are open and inquisitive about bugs and flowers and bees and worms. I would like to encourage their curiosity with more outdoor learning experiences. The Apple Pencil will be used with our iPad mini to document their outside learning.

Witnessing the new growth from the Tickle Me seeds in the springtime will be a wonderful experience for my students.

They will be able to bring these plants home to share with their families.

In addition to planting, my students will play with sand and make and fly their own kites. They will also make their own windmills and watch them turn in the wind. The wooden dowels, Epsom salts, clay, and assorted materials will all be used for various outdoor STEM activities.
