This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Transitional Kindergarteners are natural scientists, and like many scientists, our world fascinates them.

With your help to bring the materials in this project to the students, we will have tons of hands on outdoor experiences designed to help students become scientists and increase their knowledge about our world.

The neon balloons and dinosaur Valentine’s Day building blocks will be used during our STEM dinosaur day celebration. The portable wireless speaker will allow students to easily hear stories, directions, and information about their science topics while they are outdoors. After reading the book “Total Solar Eclipse,” we will use the chalk to draw diagrams—on the sidewalk—of the solar eclipse, that we will be able to observe with the eclipse safety glasses in this project.

We will use our binoculars to get a closer look at the plants and animals on our upcoming field trip to a local farm. Two of the books in this project, “How to make Bubbles,” and “ Bubbles Float, Bubbles Pop” will let us read about the science of bubbles, and then we will use bubble wands and the giant bubble making kits on this project list to make our own bubbles. The batteries will power the bubble wands and the megaphones, which will allow students to easily and clearly hear the teachers voice in our outdoor science lab.
