This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live here in the Bay Area, CA. They come from Title I families and receive free and reduced price lunch. Our population is varied, yet mostly Spanish speaking. Many families are living with family members or relatives in order to live here in the expensive San Francisco Bay Area.
Due to the economic needs of our population we often lack supplies needed for extra activities, lessons, and field trips.
Due to these factors we are excited to become a part of DonorsChoose.org. Our students often do not have opportunities to explore beyond our immediate community. Thank you for helping our class gain classroom resources, learning tools, and possible future trips to broaden their learning experiences.
My Project
Daily exercise is essential and exciting in our 2nd grade learning environment. We start our day out with breathing, stretching, creative exercise and physical activity. Your donation will help us purchase equipment to use daily to achieve a more healthy and positive physical condition!
We are in need of outdoor equipment items to keep our students moving, such as jump ropes, hoola hoops, soccer balls, and plastic cones!
As the year progresses we have seen our students become stronger and gain endurance as well as confidence in their coordination and physical skills!
Please consider sponsoring our class outdoor exercise routine!! Our students need healthy bodies to concentrate and reach their academic goals.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
