Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a classroom full of bright unique students, each with their own need. My students are funny, loving, and kind. They are constantly growing in many ways: they are learning how to talk to each other kindly, and they are able to work hard to stay in their area and keep a good personal space. For 5 and 6 year olds, they have a heart of gold and are always eager to learn new ways to socialize with friends. My students are in a special education self-contained class and are often looked at as “different”. In my classroom they inspire me to “different” because “different” can be a beautiful thing.

My Project

All of the materials I have chosen will help set up my classroom and transform it into an outdoor learning adventure. The theme of my room will be a Woodland theme that has fun wilderness animals on borders, name tags, and accents for my students to feel as though they are learning outside. Through another generous donation, I was able to provide my students with a beautiful blue tent that is perfect for calming down, or taking a break. This tent will match my wilderness theme and be the cherry on top for my classroom. I also added music tools that my students can use when we need a brain break from learning, a few learning materials to help enhance their academic success, a behavior chart to help them visually see how their day is going and last but not least a calendar chart to show my students what month we are in and to inform them on any holidays or birthdays!
