Outdoor Fun and Games

My Students

In my class, I have a culturally diverse population of 22 fifth graders from a variety of income levels. They are wonderful, caring, strong leaders. We work a lot on positive thinking and being mindful of how we can succeed. I believe that if I empower my students with knowledge and a quality education, they will have everything they need to be successful adults.

My students are enthusiastic and energetic fifth graders.

We are a Title I school, meaning over 90% of our students come from a low socioeconomic background. Many of our students have learned English as a second language, come from diverse family situations, and have moved multiple times during their elementary school years. Even in the face of such challenges, they maintain a positive outlook and desire to learn. I could not be more proud to be their teacher.

My Project

Right now my students outdoor recess only involves their imagination and races. Indoor recess (rainy days) involves only playing on the computer or "Heads down, Thumbs Up." Help my students develop cooperation via indoor and outdoor equipment such as items as jump ropes and playground balls. Many of these items can be adapted for indoor use too.

My students need and deserve more, and my goal is to make sure that all of their needs are met - not just the academic ones, but their physical needs too.

Help me help my students and give them recess equipment. Thank you for your consideration. I can already hear the giggles and laughter of my students playing with this equipment during their recess time.
