Outdoor Equipment for SPED Pre-K Class

Help me give my students the proper play equipment so they can build there fine and gross motor skills while playing with there peers.

My Students

All my students are eager to learn, adorable and sweet. They are all under 5 years old and have unique disabilities. Many of my students struggle with social skills, speech, fine and gross motor. Having these outside toys will allow them to play together even if they are not talking to each other. Creating an environment where students can play together and build social skills is a key element in prepping these students for inclusion kindergarten. As there teacher it is my job to ensure that I am doing everything I can to create a loving, safe, welcoming and academically appropriate learning environment for these students.

My Project

Our PreK playground is in desperate need of new toys and engaging activities. A few of my students are very sensitive to sound, engaging them with other students can be tricky. That is why I am asking for toys that students are able to independently play with. The water table will be used for students who are feeling over-stimulated by their peers during recess. These sensitive students can calm the body and mind by relaxing at the water table.

The many outdoor toys will benefit the students by giving them the proper equipment they need to play safe, build motor skills and engage with their peers.

Sadly our pre-k playground consists of 1 (very old and sun damaged) playground set. Due to our school massive size, asking administrators for extra financial support is not an option. (It is also a little too small for some of my 5 year old students!)

Adding these fun new toys will allow all the pre-k students to build their social and gross motor skills while playing with their peers. The water table will allow the sensitive students to engage in quiet play with their peers and help calm their overactive minds. All these new toys will bring smiling faces to the SPED pre-k students who will be able to use them!
