Outdoor Block Building!

My students need a set of hollow blocks to build during outdoor play time.

My Students

Do you remember building with blocks and creating imaginative worlds of your own? My students love to do this during outdoor play. They create cars, boats, castles and houses. Imagination and creativity are key to 5 year-old development.

The young students at Topanga Elementary Charter School are lucky to participate in a Developmental Kindergarten program, giving them the gift of time to grow and develop.

It is a wonderful, hands-on program where the young students have opportunities to create, build, discover, and build friendships. The outdoor hollow building blocks will give my students opportunities to participate in team-building activities, develop cooperation, develop creative thinking and problem solving skills and have fun!

My Project

I am requesting one set of hollow building blocks that can be used outdoors during our recess and lunch time play periods as well as for special projects. I hope to add to this set, but am anxious to give my students the opportunity to develop math skills, logic, problem solving and creative opportunities to imagine and pretend.

A child's imagination is key to his/her development and the dreams of today's children become the realities of our future.

The inventions of today were once somebody's "what if?" Young children learn through doing, creating, building and imagining. I want to provide these opportunities for the students in my kindergarten class.
