This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It has been years, since our functional skills classrooms have had new shelving or organizational furniture that looks easy on the eye. Our current shelves consist of an older wood and have a random make-up of shelves that range from being too narrow, not big enough, really bulky dimensions or different sizes. Because of this, I have noticed that my students are unable to keep the classroom library organized, individual student bins are messy, and in general, students have a hard time putting things away in the right manner.
With these cube organizers, it will help my students maintain a clean classroom and mainstream how to keep their items organized.
These cube organizers are the same dimensions and same size for storing items in each square space. This will show the classroom that there is only one way to properly store items. Books can be stored in bins that slide into the cubes and this will help protect the books and keep the area neat. Sensory items and other bins can also be stored in each cube and can more easily be labeled to be put back in the correct spot. And this will also free up more space for teaching supplies or curriculum that can't always fit on the current shelves.
