FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Reeves's classroom raised $959
This project is fully funded
The Challenger Learning Center experience will give our 7th grade students the opportunity to see how science, math and technology taught in the classroom is put to use in the real world.
In the simulated mission, children are part of a team that builds a probe designed to study the composition and route of a comet. Students work either as a member of Mission Control or part of the crew on the Space Shuttle. Team work is critical and staying on task vital in order to have the probe ready for launch when the shuttle reaches the comet.
This mission is especially poignant for our students since our school name for teams and clubs is The Claremont Comets: Out of the Oort-inary. As Science Specialist I seek out new and exciting but relevant experiences for the students in this math and science academy.
I don't know which experience will provide the spark for a child but my goal is to widen their view of the world and give them as many opportunities as possible to experience a unique adventure, which in turn may lead to an exciting future.
