About My Students
Writing essays is the most challenging task for my students. Fortunately, my students are able to type their essays on computers. However, they are unable to print these essays. My students don't have the financial means available to purchase printers for their home use, so a classroom printer is crucial.
Unfortunately, just before the school year ended, my printer died. It lived a good life and received several ink transfusions over the past 10 years, but it was its time to go.
Therefore, my students need to have access to a classroom printer to review, edit, and make necessary corrections for perfect papers.
Writing is a difficult process that includes prewriting, writing, revising, editing, and publishing. My students need help with all of these steps. With a new laser printer and flash drives to back-up their essays, my students can print their essays to facilitate this writing process, especially with regard to revising and editing. My students will hone their writing skills which are essential for high school, college, and beyond.
In Their Own Words
Our teacher wants to help us become better writers. With the new common core assessments we are required to take, we need to write multi-paragraph essays. To help prepare for these assessments, we must practice writing in the classroom. Utilizing a printer and flash drives will help us master the writing process.
By printing our essays, we'll be able to share our writing with our classmates. Collaborating with our peers will generate additional ideas to help improve our writing skills. Also, we'll be building relationships by learning to share with fellow students in a productive manner. With the flash drives, we'll have a way to transfer our essays from our laptops so they can be printed.
If we receive the laser printer, we'll be able to print out our essays. It's important to print a first draft that we can review and revise so that our essays are perfect. Then a final draft must be printed for submission. Utilizing first and final drafts help us with the writing process so we can produce well-written essays.
