In my classroom, the students come from diverse backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common: They come to school to work hard and achieve the ambitious goals that they set for themselves.
Their dedication to the pursuit of knowledge is truly impressive.
I am so proud of them each and every day! They are enthusiastic and enjoy working on self-driven passion projects.

My Project
For this project, we would like to purchase a class set of the amazing novel Out of My Mind which centers around a young girl with disabilities and her struggle to be seen as just a normal kid.
This project is all about inspiring empathy in the students.
Hopefully after reading this book, they will be able to put themselves in other people's shoes. This book goes in depth into what it is like to be judged before people get a chance to know you. We feel that is an crucial lesson for our students to learn.
