Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
ESL students will work individually and in groups to:
Write personal stories or letters to their future selves and create books using a book binding machine for them to keep.
They will create posters, slideshows, or comics about their cultures or experiences. They will record short videos or podcasts in English (and their home languages).
This project will support reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills while also building a sense of community and belonging. It allows every student to take pride in who they are and practice English in a low-stress, creative environment.
By funding this project, you are giving English learners the tools and confidence to express themselves in a new language, share their stories, and feel seen and celebrated. You’re not just helping them improve academically — you're helping them find their voice.
