Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Often times students feel like their voice is not heard. With the national elections coming up, students are starting to hear about different candidates and the changes they are proposing. Many of the decisions will directly affect their families. Our school is also holding elections for School-Wide Offices. We are doing this to help students engage in the voting process and share with them an important part of citizenship. It is important for children to learn that their voice counts and become engaging, pro-active citizens as they grow up. With your help our scholars can have a more authentic experience as we create "I vote" and "Your vote Counts" buttons during our elections with the supplies. Candidates for student elections will also be able to use the button maker for their campaigns.
The 3 tools for button making including the Vevor Button Maker, the Round Badge Button parts and the Fiskars x-Large Squeeze Punch Round will help create a fun experience for our scholars by helping them be engaged in the process, proud to display the buttons and create wonderful memories.
