Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The items I am requesting are to help my fifth graders gain a comfortable and inviting classroom library. I want to encourage students to be excited about reading with a variety of book series they can enjoy. I personally love a book that I can look forwards to its film version after. I remember reading A Series of Unfortunate Events and eager to watch the film after.
I hope to provide that excitement to students and show them the difference between the movie and book versions.
In addition the lights will serve to create a warm environment for students to feel comfortable to get cozy with a good book of their choice. The storage bench will provide our library with additional storage but more importantly with a flexible seating opportunity for the students. Overall, my goal for this project is to remind students that reading is more than just classwork but an opportunity to explore a new world.
