My Project
I have such amazing students. Despite many of their circumstances they still manage to reach for the stars. My dream for my third grade class is for my students to have an opportunity to read outside of the classroom. I want to have a classroom library. Currently, the school does not allow the children to bring their library books home. They have to keep them at school. They do not have many moments during the day for extra reading. Many families don't access the public library due to various reasons. This means that a large portion of them do not have any reading opportunities outside of the classroom. They are not learning the joy of reading for entertainment. They also do not have the extra reading practice to help them attain their benchmark reading level. I long to share the pure joy of a good story. The magic of escaping into an amazing book.
