Our Third Grade Classroom Library Needs to Grow

Help me give my students high interest books and books about super heroes.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Barton's classroom raised $309

This project is fully funded

My Project

Our school library is closed and it is difficult for families to safely get to the neighborhood library. My third grade students will read when there are materials that engage them. I have specifically asked for books the students requested, such as the I-Survived series. They also dearly love their superhero titles. The titles also feature people of color. This matters a great deal to my students, as the other reading materials supplied are often woefully lacking in diversity.

Studies show that reading self-selected texts for 20 minutes daily greatly improves fluency and comprehension.

It is vital that my students have books that they want to read. Having a classroom library with books they want to read gives my students the message that we respect them and care about their reading progress.
