Our Sunshine Readers Need Sunshine Books!

Help me give my students Sunshine State Books for the 2023-2024 school year to promote their love of reading.

My Project

Each year, the state of Florida recommends a list of books called the "Sunshine State Books." Sunshine State Books are selected for their wide appeal, literary value, varied genres, curriculum connections, and/or multicultural representations.

Having this type of access means a lot to my students as it reminds them that we adults care about their success and their love for reading.

Most students in my class read at least one Sunshine State Book, and a large many read all 15. These serve as a topic of discussion among students in student-led book clubs. In the spring, students who read these books will represent our class to compete in a Sunshine State Battle of the Books. Please help me provide these my students with the opportunity to have access to these Sunshine State books and allow them to celebrate their achievements as readers!
