Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a Title I campus where the majority of our students are on free or reduced lunch. Due to the limited resources, many of our students do not have the necessary equipment and/or gear to participate in extra-curricular activities. We have students that come out and do sports regardless of how old or worn out their gear is. They want to be active and they want to be better! With your help I know we can make SHS shine.
My Project
All these items will help our students excel on the playing fields. The backpacks will allow students to have necessary space to carry their athletic gear and other supplies.
Many of our teams do not have the equipment necessary to compete at high levels.
Our soccer and volleyball teams will also benefit from much needed gear like the practice/game shorts, knee pads, and shin guards. Adding to the their safety in games.
This project will allow our teams and coaches to have much of the needed equipment necessary to stay on par with other schools in the Houston area.
