This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our charter school is located in the heart of the greater San Diego metro area and our students come from all over the city to learn in our expanding urban neighborhood.
Our school has grown into a place where students are actively engaged in their community, both as learners and contributors of our neighborhood.
It is my first year teaching, so I want to prepare the best learning environment I can for my incoming class! Your donation will support the learning of my students this year and hopefully many more to come.
My Project
I am a big believer in making my classroom student-centered.
It is my first year teaching, and I aim to share a room with my students that helps me empower them to be active members of our classroom community.
One of the ways I will do that is by differentiating the seating and work spaces in the classroom. We will have lessons for whole group, individuals, and everything in between, as well as time where students are building their skills independently. Classroom design that supports student choice and is responsive to their physical, mental, and emotional needs will help my students feel safe, comfortable, and able to do their very best each and every day.
Your donation towards different seating options in our classroom, such as the stability balls, wobble chairs, cushions, and stools, will give my students opportunity to learn how to make good choices about where to do their work and also benefit their learning by boosting their brain power and putting their energy to good use.
