My school is located in a low-income neighborhood with scholars from diverse backgrounds. Nearly all scholars qualify for free school meals.
Despite socioeconomic disadvantages, our melting pot of scholars possesses a positive outlook on learning.
Each child is unique and deserves quality resources and experiences that will shape their future.
We are a Title I school; however, it’s often a challenge to find funding to purchase materials and resources. Basic classroom supplies and technology are in high demand in our school and our scholars deserve to experience high-quality education and resources.
My Project
These items will be used to launch our Innovation Lab! We are eager to receive these quality materials that all be used during this hybrid learning school year and beyond.
The Innovation Lab will provide the opportunity to nurture college and career ready skills while encouraging critical thinking.
Materials such as Dash and dot, 3d printer, Botley and Ruku can be coded remotely! Scholars will be able to interact with these robots by coding them using devices and apps. I will be able to use Zoom/Google meets to display how the scholar’s codes operate each bot.
For hybrid scholars, creating and printing 3D pieces and coding robots while following socially distance guidelines will allow them to engage and push their thinking. The two Ipads will allow scholars to access apps and code each robot/drone.
The materials will support our scholars in engaging yet socially-distanced safe activities. Scholars will explore and use materials that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. STEAM education is essential to our scholar's futures, and we look forward to launching our lab!
