Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help me start a 5th/4th-grade leadership group for girls in a safe space. Teachers will select a total of between 6 and 9 girls already eager to learn beyond state standards they have already met. Leadership skills, such as assertive communications and student governance will help them develop a creative community on and off campus. They will develop acceptance and respect for all the students with equanimity. They need your support to gift the campus a sanctuary space needed to learn new skills in a safe and brave environment and to create a mural to share their message. Eventually, the boys may join when they learn the same skills, mirroring their peers, and being part of the governance on campus - a legacy project in civil governance!
