Help me give my students an awesome Esports room. After five years we finally have a dedicated space for the club, they have grown and earned awards so we want them to keep growing with a comfortable space.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
For the last three years I have been one of the coaches for our school Esports Team. We've nourished students' sense of sportsmanship, and as they continue to get better they have earned top spots in regional tournaments. Still, our students can do so much better if they have the resources! The problem we've had is not having an area dedicated for the club, which means that our equipment was being moved around, plugged in and pulled out, and stored in less than ideal spaces, which has limited our practice time and led to equipment loss. Our school is currently undergoing renovations and we've been given a space to setup permanently for our team.
Now that we have a dedicated area we need help making it the best gaming room around so that our students can learn more about the business and practice of esports and excel as teammates.
We want to create the perfect space utilizing the gaming chairs and headphones to create the perfect zone for our Rocket League Corner. The monitors, switches and Mario Kart cartridges will help us setup the Mario Kart Area simulating the conditions our students see during the districts tournaments allowing them to better hone the skills.
Above all If you help fund our project, we will be able to offer practice more often since the designated areas means that everyone can practice on the same day instead of once a week depending on their game of choice based on availability of resources. Helping our students not only to hone their gaming skills but to grow as teammates, learn about leadership, become familiar with the history and business of esports, and take the skills of being in a team and apply them to their lives.
