This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What makes my students special is the relationship I am building with them and getting to know every single one of them. Relationships to me are important. They let me get to know them better. They can also help me incorporate what students like into my lessons. Teaching shouldn’t always be boring.

If I could describe my classroom in five words, they would be: engaging, passionate, creative, supportive, and positive.

My Project

I am new to ELA/Social Studies family full time this year and would love more for my classroom. A scanner can help my students be more responsible, since they will have to check a book out and back in. This will also help me keep track of who borrow what book.

White boards will be good for their vocabulary practice in big groups or small groups.

I love Scholastic News magazine. As a child I always thought it was cool that there is a kid friendly magazine. This will be used for current events assignments and be useful for my students who do not have a computer at home. Since this is my first year teaching ELA, I would love more new books for my library.
