As you all may or may not know, I am a finally a teacher!

I am going to teach 1st grade at an elementary school which is located in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. We've all heard stories and know the reputation that goes with neighborhood.

My dream for my classroom is to create a safe haven for my kids. I want to make sure that everyone of my kids will have the supplies that they will need to get through the school day. Your donation will help build an incredible Literacy Center, the kids will be able to sit back and read books on new bean bag chairs. Each child will have their own set of crayons, markers, glue, and scissors so they will be able to work on projects without any worry about not having the proper supplies.

My Project

One thing I have learned in Student Teaching is that pencils are like gold to kids, and If you want to keep something, you better laminate it!! All of these requested materials will help to set my kids up for success! They will come into our classroom everyday knowing that there are people out there that believe in them and want them to succeed! The Literacy Center will be equipped with comfy bean beat chairs that the students can sit on during our center time. There will be enough crayons, markers, scissors, and glue sticks for each child to complete all the work we will do throughout the day.

By donating, you are making it possible for me to purchase other things for the room such as: curtains, snacks, and other decorations.
