Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very sweet but can come from rough home environments. The classroom is their safe place to be kids. These students love to create, build, learn, revise their thinking, share, and so much more in our classroom. Most of our students come from Spanish-speaking homes and live in small dwellings with large families. They don't all have the support they need, so our most difficult task is to help each of them succeed and shine in their own way. Which is now even more difficult with distance learning.

My students love Science and Technology, these resources will foster that love.

I would love to offer them more during distance learning.

The dynamics of my class are very interesting because students range reading at a level H all the way to a level Z. This is my school's 5th year having a STEAM Magnet program on-site, and this project will help foster a greater love for Science and Technology. Due to lack of funding, we do not have the money to keep up with the newest digital files avaliable for at home learning. My students deserve to have access to so much more.

My Project

My project will ensure that my students have access to Scholastic weekly readers and the digitall resources on their website. These weekly readers not only offer Science and Social Studies opportunities but also connect them to today's world. These are a simple way to stay connected and integrate more standards in one lesson.

The Teachers Pay Teachers giftcard will help my plan and organize daily lessons, as well as keep students engaged in their distance learning.

I have found some really good, interactive files that I can post directly to my Google Classroom or SeeSaw for my students.

Learning from home is going to be a challenge for everyone. These digital files will make my classroom experience so much better!
